Procurement & Tooling

  • Selection of appropriate tooling based upon anticipated product volume. A cost analysis is performed to determine the most cost effective choice.
  • Rapid prototyping techniques to reduce lead time. Die cast quality parts in as few as four weeks.
  • Sterling works with several tooling vendors to match the project requirements.
  • Years of experience outsourcing manufacturing and component suppliers. Large pool of resources. Balance cost vs. leadtime – intelligent purchasing decisions.
  • All tooled parts receive a first article inspection and approval by Sterling and the customer.

Manufacture

Sterling Custom coordinates the manufacturing process across all disciplines. The final assembly manufacturer is selected based upon the product’s primary feature. A product which relies heavily upon electronic circuitry will be final assembled by a vendor experienced in the handling and testing of electronic products.

Every custom product is 100% inspected and operationally tested by Sterling Custom prior to installation.

Installation

Sterling Custom works closely with the owner and contractor during installation. As required, Sterling Custom will provide on-site technical support for any special alignment or programming functions. When the custom product is interfacing to a third party control system, Sterling Custom works closely with that vendor to ensure interface integrity and reliability.
